Using this site

By using milecaptain.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You may read, print and share our pages for your own use and to help other drivers, as long as you don't remove our name or change the content.

Please don't copy the site wholesale, scrape it in a way that slows it down, try to break its security, or send spam or false information through our forms.

2

Guides are general information, not legal advice

Our guides, glossary and statistics pages explain federal hours of service, ELD and safety rules in plain words, with citations to the regulation text and FMCSA's pages and the date we checked them. Rules change, waivers and pilot programs come and go, states add their own rules, and your situation may have details we can't see.

Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using it doesn't create any professional relationship. For a decision that matters, read the current regulation (49 CFR, on eCFR), check FMCSA's guidance, and ask a qualified professional. For medical questions such as sleep apnea or your medical card, talk to a certified medical examiner.

3

Calculators give estimates

Our calculators, including the hours of service calculator and trip planner, give estimates based on what you enter and on the rules as we last checked them. They can't see your actual duty status history, exemptions, local conditions or the latest changes.

Always check results against your ELD and the current rules before you drive. Your ELD record and the regulations decide what you may legally do, not our calculators. Never use a calculator result to drive past your limits.

4

No guarantees of loads or income

Example loads, rates, weeks and settlements on this site are marked EXAMPLE and are there to explain how things work. They aren't promises. We don't guarantee loads, rates, miles or income, on this site or in our service. Freight markets change, and your results depend on your lanes, equipment, record and choices.

5

Dispatch and factoring services

Applying through this site doesn't create a dispatch agreement. If we work together, the dispatch service agreement covers fees, cancellation and responsibilities. Factoring is provided by our partner, RTS, under their own terms; we only refer you.

6

Links to other sites and partner offers

We link to government sources, partners and other sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices. Some links are partner links, and we may be paid if you sign up through them. Our disclosure page explains each relationship.

7

Limits of our responsibility

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it's always error-free or online. To the extent the law allows, MileCaptain isn't liable for losses that come from using or relying on the site, its guides or its calculators, including fines, out-of-service orders or lost revenue.

8

Our content

The text, graphics, illustrations and calculators on this site belong to MileCaptain unless stated otherwise. Regulation text we quote belongs to the public record. Other companies' names belong to them, and mentioning them doesn't mean they endorse us.

9

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it. Questions about these terms can go through our contact page.
